Menstrual Pads for Teens in Malaysia
Making long-lasting, semi-permanent menstrual pads to support teenagers living in poverty in Malaysia, and to push back against period poverty.

Each member of our chapter made multiple pads, and together we produced and donated a substantial number. The pads are reusable and semi-permanent, a more sustainable option for teenagers who cannot count on regular access to basic sanitary products.
The project was aimed at menstrual hygiene and dignity as much as supply. It was the first time I thought carefully about how something as ordinary as a sanitary pad can decide whether a girl goes to school that week.
