Monthly Meals for an Elderly Neighbor
For a year and a half I have cooked for an elderly man who lives alone, bringing food every month. The meals matter, but the relationship matters more.

I usually bring side dishes, fruit, healthy drinks, and dessert. What I did not expect was how much I would value the conversations. He compliments my cooking and shares lessons from his life, and I have come to look forward to those visits as much as he does.
This is the activity that shaped how I think about service. It is not a one-time project with a photo at the end. It is a relationship built slowly through consistent visits, care, and trust, and it is the model I want the rest of my work to follow.
