English Mentoring in Vietnam & Korea
Weekly English lessons for two young siblings in Vietnam and Korea, from September to December 2024, through Hwarang International.
I taught for an hour each week, from 10 to 11 a.m., working with two siblings, a third-grade boy and a fourth-grade girl. To keep it from feeling like school, I used games like Hangman and built the grammar in gradually: nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and pronouns.
They seemed to genuinely enjoy the lessons, and at the end of one they asked whether I would be back the next week. That small question was the most rewarding part, a sign the hour had meant something to them too.
