Seocho-gu Funding Meeting
With two chapter members, I met with Seocho-gu government officials to make the case for funding our Hwarang International Seoul Chapter, and left with ₩420,000 to support our work.
We explained our chapter’s past community service and the initiatives we hoped to fund next. While it was intimidating to speak directly to public officials at first, it pushed me to articulate clearly why our work mattered and what more would be possible with support.
The ₩420,000 in funding was modest, but the amount was not really the point. What mattered was that a local government had looked at what a group of students was doing and decided it was worth backing. This experience encouraged me to have more faith in myself and take my work more seriously.
